Where the heck have I been?

Ummm, am I just seriously late to the party or what?
MODCLOTH...
Oh my goodness.
Really, living under a rock!
I had no idea they offered "plus size" options!

Like this little beauty, lovely.

Or how about this sweet pretty dress?

I see lots of pretty dresses, vintage inspired swim suits and some adorable shoes in my very near future!

Sweet family session

Love Love Love
this sweet little family!

The bump factor

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Jacquelyn and Justin, and baby bump Jacob!
I have known Jacque forever. She is best friends with my kid sister.
Jacque has got to be one of the cutest pregnant girls I have ever seen!
Her and her hubby Justin are so cute and super excited to meet their son!
I had the best time with them and cant wait to photograph baby Jacob when he comes!

Can we talk about JOY?

JOY

No one should ever underestimate the ability for
JOY
to fill all voids.
Even in the saddest, most difficult of times if you allow
JOY
to reign in your heart it is there,
even in darkness.
JOY
has an amazing ability to make any circumstance bearable.
Like the 7 days I spent in the hospital with my husband not knowing at first if he'd live.
Then not knowing if he would lose his leg.
Not knowing if  he'd ever walk on his own again, or work again, or be himself again.
Or all the years (12years to be exact) of battling infertility & pregnancy loss.
Or losing loved ones, or seeing marriages of people we love fall apart.
JOY
was there, in all of it.
The explosions of
JOY
that come at happy times serve to replenish the soul completely for the times of sadness, difficulty, hurt and darkness...

We should all have
JOY.
It makes you smile from the inside out.
It greets each day with anticipation rather than trepidation.
It lifts the spirits of others.
JOY
is
powerful

For me
JOY
is a visual adjective & when I say
JOY
I see sunshine.
Even on the dreariest of days.

Intentionally there are no pictures with this post because all I want you to see is
JOY

This week

Once again I am behind!
The story of my life!
We had a big ol' snow storm here a couple weeks ago.
Dumped buckets of the powdery white stuff.

It also brought the scariest ride of my life to date.
Nothing like a little ER trip to freak the momma out!
He is fine, thought he had appendisitis.
It wasnt~just a little bowel issue that is completely ok now! Whew!

This week however brought normalcy!
It brought an end to the snow piled up.
It brought sunshine and rain.
It brought good friends for lunch and a night out with others!
It brought joy-filled tears & occassionally frustration filled tears.
It brought loving, comforting words.

This week brought silly glasses!

And beautiful sunsets.

And skateboarding trips to the park!

This week has been great and I cant wait to start a new one!
Enjoy your week!

*iPhone photos are the bomb! :)

Behind...

I never got this posted...
I'm a little behind!

A look back on the end of 2011!
Enjoy!
